Fortcade Mini Arcade Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Fortcade Mini Arcade Chrome extension (the “Extension”), provided by Fortcade (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information.

1. What the Extension does

The Extension displays Fortcade’s public game catalog in a Chrome toolbar popup and side panel. Users can review newly published and recommended games, search and filter the catalog, save games locally, and open selected games on fortcade.com.

2. Information handled by the Extension

• Saved game IDs: When a user saves a game, its public Fortcade post ID is stored locally in the Extension.
• Public catalog cache: Public titles, links, categories, cover-image URLs, dates, recommendation scores, and related catalog metadata may be cached locally for faster loading.
• New-game badge counters: The latest public catalog total and the total last seen by the user are stored locally to calculate the toolbar badge.
• Standard request data: When the Extension requests public catalog data or a user opens a Fortcade link, Fortcade’s servers may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser user agent, request time, requested URL, and referral or campaign parameters.

The Extension does not read or collect general browsing history, content of pages the user visits, bookmarks, passwords, authentication cookies, financial information, health information, precise location, personal communications, or Fortcade account credentials.

3. How information is used

Locally stored information is used only to show Saved games, display public catalog content more quickly, remember cache and pagination state, and calculate or clear the new-games toolbar badge.

The Extension does not use this information for personalized advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.

4. Storage, sharing, and sale

Saved game IDs, catalog caches, and badge counters remain in Extension-local storage on the user’s device. They are not synced to a Fortcade account and are not transmitted to Fortcade, sold, or shared with third parties.

The Extension communicates directly with fortcade.com over HTTPS to retrieve public catalog data and open links selected by the user. Standard server request data is handled under the Fortcade website Privacy Policy.

5. Permissions

• sidePanel: Opens the Fortcade catalog in Chrome’s side panel after a user click.
• alarms: Schedules a public catalog-count check every two hours for the new-games badge.
• storage: Keeps the badge’s last-seen and latest public game totals on the device.
• https://fortcade.com/*: Retrieves public game metadata and cover images. Catalog requests omit cookies and Fortcade account credentials.

The Extension does not request permission to read browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, page content, cookies, or downloads.

6. Remote code

The Extension does not download or execute remote code. All executable JavaScript and CSS are included in the installed Extension package. Remote responses contain only public data and images.

7. Retention and deletion

Public catalog caches are refreshed and overwritten as the catalog changes. Saved game IDs remain until the user removes them, clears the Extension’s data, or uninstalls the Extension. Badge counters remain until they are overwritten, cleared, or the Extension is uninstalled.

8. Security

The Extension connects to fortcade.com using HTTPS and omits account credentials from catalog requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information handled.

9. Children

The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Extension.

10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when the Extension’s functionality or legal requirements change. We will update the date above when changes are published.
