Noggin's Red Light Green Light: 47 Contestants turns a familiar stop-and-go race into a crossover spectator contest. Created by @Akemefanboy27, it brings 47 automated characters onto one crowded course, with Noggin's red and green lights deciding when they can advance. Start the simulation, pick someone to root for, and follow the shrinking field. Your role is to watch the competitors rather than steer a runner.
A red-light mistake is a setback
The racers advance toward the green finish area while the light is green. When it turns red, they must stop. Some keep moving long enough to get caught, prompting a large “HEY!” warning and a return to the starting side. A group can be caught together, so a promising lead can disappear in one stop.

Being caught does not immediately eliminate a contestant. They can try the crossing again while the others continue. That distinction gives the race its small reversals: a character sent back early can still survive if someone else struggles for longer.
Finishing characters move into the waiting area behind the course. The last finisher is eliminated, the remaining count drops, and the survivors line up for another round. The scoreboard tracks both the field and the round, with 46 rounds listed for the 47-character contest. The overall aim is to leave one contestant standing.
During play, the field fell from 47 to 44 as the contest reached Round 4. One transition explicitly announced Ruler's elimination for finishing last. These announcements make the consequence much clearer than the crowded movement alone: a red-light catch loses distance, while last place loses a place in the contest.
Follow the stragglers, not just the crowd
Mario, Sonic, Scratch Cat, Wenda, and the crowned Blue are among the recognizable faces in a deliberately mismatched lineup. The mixture of sprites, drawing styles, and character sizes gives the race a playful crossover quality. Hovering over contestants brings up name bubbles, which helps identify less familiar entrants.
The same variety also makes the action hard to read. Large characters overlap smaller ones, several name bubbles can appear together, and the waiting crowd can obscure part of the scoreboard. A favorite may disappear behind another sprite without having been eliminated.
The most useful viewing habit is to shift attention to the foreground once most contestants have finished. That is where the remaining runners are still risking another setback. The busy opening becomes a much easier contest to follow when only a few stragglers remain. Those slower crossings supply more suspense than watching the whole pack move at once, although they also make the wait between eliminations uneven.
Controls and pacing
The surrounding player provides the practical controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Run | Starts the contest; using it again restarts the simulation. |
| Hover over a contestant | Displays a name bubble. |
| Pause / continue | Freezes and resumes the running simulation. |
| Fullscreen / Quit | Expands the game view and returns to the embedded view. |
Pause is useful when the cast becomes difficult to identify. Fullscreen gives the course more room, though it cannot prevent sprites from overlapping. The appeal comes from following changing positions and rooting for unlikely survivors. Anyone looking for direct movement controls or a personal reaction-time challenge should set their expectations accordingly.
The repeated crossing is easy to understand, but a 47-character elimination contest asks for patience. Its strongest moments are the recoveries, late arrivals, and blunt elimination announcements. The crowd itself supplies much of the entertainment; the course remains visually simple.
