AY in Noggin's RL, GL Game Redux [ 40 Players ]

AY in Noggin's RL, GL Game Redux [ 40 Players ] by @Yenna turns red light, green light into an automated crossover elimination tournament. Forty contestants share a crowded horizontal course, with a red starting line on the left and a bright green finish area on the right. Your role is to watch the race, follow favorite characters, and see who survives each round.

Getting caught is different from getting eliminated

The overhead board switches between green and red lights as the cast advances. When contestants fail to stop, a large “HEY!” warning names an offender or reports how many were caught. Those penalties send the caught contestants back toward the start, giving them another attempt within the same round.

Crossing into the finish area changes a contestant's role in the scene: they move above the course and wait while the remaining racers struggle through more light changes. The decisive event comes when one contestant is left behind. That last finisher is eliminated, the survivor count falls, and the next round begins.

Alex provided a clear example during play: the game explicitly announced his elimination for finishing last, then moved from 40 contestants in Round 1 to 39 in Round 2. Later, Dino was singled out for failing to stop and returned to the left before running again. The distinction matters when following a favorite: a red warning alone does not mean their tournament is over.

The crowd becomes a handful of stragglers

The changing race order supplies most of the drama. Early in a round, overlapping contestants can make the course difficult to read. Later, the waiting crowd above the track leaves the remaining racers easier to follow. A character close to safety can still lose ground after another catch.

This pattern continued across the opening four completed rounds, reaching Round 5 with 36 contestants remaining. Group warnings caught several characters at once, while later exchanges focused attention on individual stragglers. Repeated returns to the start can stretch a round out, so the pace depends on how quickly the remaining contestants finally cross.

The cast includes Blue, Pinki, Wenda, Raddy, Vineria, and a mixture of letter characters and other crossover figures. Hovering over contestants reveals their names, which helps when unfamiliar designs overlap. Large character artwork and dense costumes give the scene a chaotic collage quality; the light board and survivor counter are often the clearest way to follow the overall competition.

Starting, pausing, and following the tournament

Click Run to begin. The host player's Pause control freezes the current action, and Continue resumes it. Clicking Run again restarts the tournament with 40 contestants and Round 1, so use Pause when you want to preserve a developing race.

For a more readable viewing session, pick one or two characters to follow, hover to confirm their names, and watch for their move into the waiting group above the course. Check the survivor count after an elimination announcement. Those cues make the repeated rounds easier to understand even when the center of the screen is crowded.

The appeal is the spectacle of familiar characters gaining ground, getting caught, and narrowly avoiding last place. For another cast size in this format, see AY in Noggin's Red Light Green Light: 47 Contestants.
