Black Sprunki: Boss Run

Black Sprunki: Boss Run puts Black beneath two approaching number gates: a small green gain on one side and a much larger red penalty on the other. Drag him sideways, build his score, and watch his familiar top hat and white tie give way to increasingly monstrous forms before a final encounter with horror Simon.

Created by @hafizarrasy, this is a short Sprunki runner built around arithmetic and positioning. A straightforward route can reach the finish, but lining up carefully between neighboring gates produces much larger totals—and makes an ordinary-looking row surprisingly valuable.

Steer Black through the number gates

Hold the mouse button inside the playfield and drag left or right. Touch controls follow the same pattern: keep a finger down and slide horizontally. Black follows that position while the gates approach automatically, so your job is to choose where each row meets him.

Green gates add points or multiply the current score. Red gates subtract points, with the opening -50 penalty making the neighboring +5 especially attractive. A negative total does not immediately end the run; later gains can recover it. The skull-marked gate is more severe: contact resets the course and returns the score to zero.

Give a gate time to clear Black before switching sides. Moving across while a row still overlaps him can collect the other gate too, turning a successful choice into an avoidable penalty. The generous space between many rows makes early positioning more useful than a last-second sweep.

The middle can collect both gates

When both sides offer positive numbers, Black can overlap their adjoining edges and collect both. A paired +5 row can therefore add ten points, while paired +20 gates can add forty.

The same positioning works on the two ×20 gates. Both multipliers apply in sequence: a score of 110 became 44,000 when Black collected the pair. That jump is the clearest reason to experiment with the divider instead of treating every row as a strict left-or-right choice.

This trick also carries a cost. Centering on two -5 gates subtracts ten points, so move into one lane when both options are penalties. Read the entire row, then decide whether the middle helps.

Later, repeated +1000 pickups accelerate the total further. Near the finish, a large central bonus adds a million points. Missing that pickup can leave Black far below the strength needed for the boss, even after collecting many earlier gates.

Black’s changing forms reward a better route

The score changes more than the number above Black’s head. His compact, neatly dressed opening form gives way to skull-like faces, a stretched body, and increasingly elaborate arrangements of limbs and eyes. Higher totals eventually introduce red details into the dark design.

These transformations give the arithmetic a visible payoff. Collecting both multipliers can push Black through several appearances rapidly, while a lower-scoring route reveals the changes more gradually.

The presentation stays sparse: a pale background, broad colored gates, and rough white lettering keep attention on the next choice. Black’s increasingly crowded silhouette provides most of the spectacle. Very large scores can wrap onto another line, which makes the final number less immediately readable than the character’s transformation.

The 249K boss and the quiet finish

Ending details: a huge yellow, antennaed Simon approaches with an open, tooth-filled mouth and the label HP:249K. The confrontation resolves when he reaches Black, using the strength accumulated along the course.

Successful million-plus routes made Simon disappear and left the transformed Black on the cleared playfield. A route that missed the final bonus reached the encounter with roughly 17,000 points; Black disappeared, and the game automatically returned to the opening with a score of zero.

Victory is understated. Black remains movable beside the final score, without a written victory message or an observed next-stage entrance. Reload the page to try another route.

The repeated layout makes improvement easy to understand: choose the favorable side on mixed rows, overlap paired gains, avoid the skull, and collect the late bonus. Once those decisions are familiar, the remaining appeal is experimenting with scores and watching Black’s forms. It suits a brief session, though the quiet ending gives little direction after the boss is gone.

For another Sprunki take on number gates and a final strength check, Mr. Sun: Sprunki Boss Run follows a different playable character through a related scrolling-course format.
